Passionate about ferns

The Exotic Fern Group is a community for enthusiasts of tropical, subtropical and indoor ferns. We bring together individuals who share a passion for these unique plants, offering opportunities to connect, learn and grow together. Members of the society enjoy regular newsletters, social visits to private fern collections and online presentations. We also organise trips to larger public fern collections. Members can also take part in research projects and benefit from access to fern and spore swap schemes to expand and develop their own collections.

Our Mission

The Exotic Fern Group is a community for enthusiasts of tropical, subtropical and indoor ferns. We bring together individuals who share a passion for these unique plants, offering opportunities to connect, learn and grow together.

Our Journal

The Exotic Fern Group publish articles throughout the year that relate to exotic ferns. Members receive regular newsletters with updates. Articles are compiled in our annual journal The Glasshouse.

Our Members

Basic membership is free. Members receive our regular newsletters, along with invitations to participate in projects and events. Members also have access to fern and spore swaps, alongside resources to help them develop their own fern collections.
